Mitch started his BJJ journey training no gi in 2014 in Fredericton, NB. In 2017 Mitch moved to Barrie, ON, and after much hesitation started training in Gi BJJ.
One year later in 2018 Mitch moved to Cold Lake, AB and continued training both gi and no gi as well as incorporating wrestling and Judo and earning his blue belt in 2019. Under professor Bernie Antle, Mitch was promoted to brown belt in April 2025 and is currently both a BJJ and Muay Thai instructor with both adult and youth. He has been continually upgrading his skillset and training, having recently acquired certification in Level 2 Kickboxing coaching.
When it comes to BJJ, Mitch believes “basics is best”.
