I fell in love with the grappling arts at an early age and started to wrestle as soon as possible, however found it difficult to find places to train at the time.
I found the UFC and BJJ in the late 90s and used instructionals to train with other like-minded athletes. At the Hamilton School of Martial Arts, I quickly gained a passion for all things grappling during my 20s.
While at HSMA, I became the Assistant Coach/ Instructor of the Grappling and MMA competition team, aiding with both the Wrestling program and Catch Wrestling program. As well, I was one of the main training partners for competitive grapplers, as I trained there for 3 years.
From then on, I wrestled in some of the hardest rooms in Southern Ontario -- McMaster & Brock Universities as a walk-on -- and Revolution BJJ/MMA in Toronto where I trained both MMA and grappling. All totalled, I have about 25 years of grappling and wrestling experince.
This fall, I will be the head coach of the Assumption Wrestling Program, and I hope to grow this program into something solid for the community.
